Ohh, we are swooning over this gorgeous two-part feature we’ll be sharing with you today and Monday! We are honored that custom couture bridal designer Katherine Bignon decided to debut her stunning new line with us at The Black Tie Bride!! Every piece is full of the kind of classic style that we adore! Today’s set of images were photographed in Paris by Abby Grace. Iconic, romantic, and so beautifully classic- you are going to be smitten!
From both Katherine, the designer: My vision is to create an heirloom for brides, a tangible memory of the day she promised forever, for her to cherish and remember each time she peeks into her closet. An heirloom that represents her love story that she can pass on one day to the daughter who grew up inspired by it. I design custom bridal gowns because I believe in a marriage that is beautiful, and that a love story is the legacy that we inspire with. Our brides are true classics, they see the beauty that surrounds them, they cherish the traditions they were raised with, and they have found a love that will never go out of style. This portfolio collection is for her; inspired by the colors of Paris, the silhouettes from Audrey, a string of Grandma’s pearls, and an oval framed picture of my own mothers dress. All the little things that put together, became what inspired my own love story. I design because of the legacy I was inspired with, and the marriage I want to cherish.
From Abby Grace, the photographer: I cannot imagine a more perfect setting for Katherine Bignon’s newest collection! Katherine spent a year in Paris (where she met her handsome French husband), and the colors of that most gorgeous city were part of what inspired her new line, so what better place to capture the first half of her collection than the city that inspired it? We decided upon shooting at the Musée du Louvre, where Katherine and her husband strolled during their first date, and then moved into the Jardin des Tuileries. Katherine knew how dear Paris is to my heart as well, and having her classically French pieces in my favorite place on earth was incredibly inspirational! The bridal pieces felt perfectly at home amidst the sweeping architecture of Paris, and I loved how fun and flirty the tulle skirts were as our model strolled the gardens and sipped her café creme.
